Chicago

This post is dedicated to my brother, John: I know you love big cities as much as I do but won’t get a chance to visit one in a while. The last couple years were hard waiting for the kidney transplant but I am so glad you finally got one. I wish I was closer to you to offer support and simply spend time with you but the ocean between us makes is hard. I love you John. I hope you enjoy these photos until you can come back to the US and visit in person!

Since I haven’t had much photos to post lately, I thought I would share some from our last trip. A couples months ago we happened to have a weekend off and headed to Chicago. I love visiting big cities especially when the weather is nice making it easy to walk around. I try to get my fill of great art and food when going to such places because let’s be honest… Canton isn’t the biggest hub of culture.

One of my goals for years was to see Seurat’s “La Grande Jatte” at the Art Institute of Chicago. It took George Seurat 2 years to create this painting made entirely of dots which measures about 7×10 feet.

Outside the Art Institute

Had to visit the Sear’s tower and got a great shot of:

Oh wait there was a nice view of the city too

Walking around near sunset

So maybe I should include a photos of James and I

The great bean

We also had a chance to go to the Botanic Gardens where I was drawn to the Asian Garden

thanks for the picture and for keeping me in your thoughts.

I don’t think you could have picked a better city with these pictures.
I went to Chicago numerous times but never really got to see it during the daytime … you know how oddly I roll at times.

Were you able to see Edward Hoppers Nighthawks painting?
