Mini-Vacation

by Genevieve ~ September 29th, 2007. Filed under: Personal.

Prepare yourselves for lots of photos and posts since we have some catching up to do.

My Mom flew in from France to spend quality time with her grandchildren so James and I decided to get away and relax (as per her suggestion). Where did we go, you might ask?

On day 1, we got to see this:

That should be a dead giveaway as to where we were. Then we walked around some to visit a place I’ve wanted to see for years:

The palace of Fine Arts

We ended up taking a couple portraits of each other since it’s hard to get 2 of us in the same photo

Night by the bay

Day 2: Napa Valley

Day 3:
Muir Woods with Redwoods Trees over 250 feet tall. These photos don’t show the scale of things.

I love old Hitchcock movies so I had to take several shots reminding me of scenes in Vertigo

Reyes Point Lighthouse

I had a difficult time believing these desolate beaches and coastline are in California

Day 4: Sonoma Valley

Final Dinner with view of the moon on the outside patio at the Carneros Inn with amazingly unique drinks

Thanks for looking!

I’m glad that I got to see these in more detail. I still love the one of the redwoods. I think my favorite is the “footprints” one on the beach. So great. -Tricia

These images are beautiful! Wow! Now I’m going to have to get Cade to take me to the west coast. ;) I’m glad you could get away for some relaxing!

Tricia: I also love to footprint shot. James can take some great shots. Yours will be up shortly.

Marcia: The west coast is a fantastic place. We certainly enjoyed relaxing before finishing off the busy wedding season.

I’m a little behind with watching your blog, I am sorry. Tim and I spent our honeymoon on the Pacific Coast Highway in very similar locations during September. Your pictures make me want to go back that much more.
