I know several people are anxiously awaiting these maternity photos so I don’t want to babble too much. While I’m glad we took some photos inside the studio, my favorites are the ones we did outside in the cornfield with the moody sky. I’m so glad the weather cooperated and we had so much fun in the process (which I knew we would)!

A few weeks back I had the chance to meet up with John and Melissa at Brandywine Falls for their family session. I have known John for quite some time as our old bands used to play together quite often and we knew a lot of the same people in the local music scene from [...]

At first Caitlin seemed reserved when we were planning her senior photo session. Come to find out, she is pretty outgoing once the ice is broken. She is also willing to do just about anything for some great photos.
We were crazy enough to plan the session outside in November and I wasn’t sure we could pull it off. Thankfully the weather was amazing as was Caitlin!

I thought Evan summed up the weather situation quite nicely when at the hotel before heading to the church, he looked out the window and jokingly said “huh, November in Ohio; I thought it would be a lot nicer than this.” Well, I don’t know what Novembers are like in Vermont where Evan is from, but Saturday was about as “November” as November gets. Near freezing temperatures, a mile thick layer of cloud, and rain coming down more sideways than down. Lots of rain. Rain on a wedding is a good sign, right?
Here are my photos, I started with the guys at the Wyndham:

Keri and Sean were one of the first couples to book us for 2010. We are surprised to see how quickly that year is booking up before 2009 has even started. Their engagement session was my first time meeting them but James warned me I would have an easy time photographing them. Sure enough, once we got over the first 5 minutes, they relaxed and I am thrilled with the photos I captured.
We go downtown Cleveland frequently for wedding and engagement photos but I pushed myself to view familiar surroundings with fresh eyes. Not always an easy task

After getting some great pregnancy photos of Kim a month ago, I was waiting for the call to come photograph the twins once they were born. These two little ones are so cute even if I made them cry and wore them out. I knew it might be a challenge to get photos of both [...]

I got a chance to meet up with Kim and Tim at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens a few weeks ago for their engagement session. It was my first time meeting Tim and I was instantly very excited to see how much fun these two have together and how un-inhibited they are about showing their affection. I can tell already that Genevieve and I are going to have a really good time at their wedding.

Eric and Ashley are such a sweet and kind couple that we love to hear from them after photographing their wedding 2 Augusts ago. We were thrilled to hear they had their first baby: a little girl named Scarlett! Yes they are Ohio State fans.
Parents are naturally biased as am I. So when Ashley said that Scarlett is a cute, smily and adorable chubby baby I was a little sceptic (because my babies are very cute). Sure enough I was blown away by Scarlett’s great personality and joviality. I’m so happy I get to photograph such cuddly and loveable babies like her.

‘Tis the season for thinking about Christmas presents. That’s what Lisa and her sister-in-law were planning for when they asked about having their kids photographed for Grandma. Let’s hope she doesn’t check this blog or the surprise is ruined!

I met Shannon when she was a bridesmaid in Paul and Nicole’s wedding we photographed in August 07. Nicole’s mom knew Shannon was expecting her first born and bought a gift certificate for us to photograph the growing family. Like many mom’s with the arrival of their first born, life changes and so does schedules, habits and expectations so the photo session happened later than expected. I was thrilled when I was finally able to meet Owen. He is such a happy guy!

C.C. and Kevin chose the very beautiful Walden Inn for their October engagement session. We knew to expect a lot of very nice landscaping, and some fall colors, but sometimes the best images come from when you stumble upon something that you weren’t expecting at all. Like a culvert, a weed infested field, or a [...]

After rescheduling due to bad weather, we finally had a nice day to photograph Stella and celebrate her first birthday. For being so young, Stella has such a bubbly personality. Making her smile was pretty easy.
Happy Birthday Stella!

I had the pleasure of photographing the Towell Family during one of the last nice days of fall at their home in Akron, Ohio. Little Tommy, who isn’t quite 2 months old in these photos, is such a cute baby. Some babies have those chubby cheeks and legs that you are just wanting to squeeze. Tommy is one of those babies.

For anyone who follows this blog closely, you might remember the Bradley Family that I photographed at Virgina Kendall a few weeks ago. The Jordans are their neighbors and Trevin and Sammy boys are best pals (most of the time).
I loved how much initiative and enthusiasm Trevin showed in the photos. His parents did pretty good too. So good in fact that I used their photos to create a new proofbook. I’ll let the photos do the talking:

Shortly following Ben and Kiera’s e-session, I met up with Andrea and Travis near their home in Hartville, Ohio. We headed over to Quail Hollow park which offered some very nice fall color palettes and features to shoot with, and it was kinda fun to walk through and point out the very spot where Genevieve and I said our weddings vows a little over six years ago.

We’re down to the final stretch in the MyFox Cleveland contest to be named the top wedding photography studio in Northeast Ohio. It’s been a really tight race for the number one position all the way through, and while the current standings are no longer up, I imagine it’s a really, really tight race right [...]

This past Sunday I was asked by my friend Rob from RAD to second shoot an Indian wedding. I knew it would be a long day but probably also a colorful one. Vibrant, full of emotion, respectful of their elders, elaborate, caring, playful are just a few words to describe Umesh and Falguni wedding. They had the details of the day planned out very well and were such a joy to be around. I enjoyed working with some familiar faces such as the ladies from White Flower and Scott from Moonstruck and seeing another photographer in action.

Hey guys, James here.
Well, we survived our October, but at times it felt like it was by the skin of our teeth. Last month was packed with portraits, engagement sessions and a full month’s worth of weddings and, as you can see below, we brought on our first staff member. One of the byproducts of [...]

James seems to do most engagement sessions but we are switching things up a little. I love getting to know our couples and the engagement session is a great opportunity to do that. Since James met Katie and Joe at the first meeting, I got to shoot their e-session in Cuyahoga Falls. Good thing I know that area because rain started pouring right before we started. We found some covered areas and still managed to get some great stuff.
