Joe and Katie’s wedding at the Union Club in Downtown Cleveland

by James ~ July 6th, 2009. Filed under: Cleveland Weddings.

This past Friday, Katie’s Dad got to walk Katie down the aisle to meet Joe just six months after he walked Katie’s sister down the aisle to meet her new husband. I’ll bet it’s been quite the year for Katie’s family, and from what we could tell, Katie and Joe’s wedding was the perfect capstone to what I imagine was a pretty interesting season of planning.

We started our day at St. Albert the Great in North Royalton followed by a trip to Voinovich Park with the bridal party where we had some beautifully dramatic skyscapes to work with. We then headed over to The Union Club which is an amazing historic building with a never ending supply of interesting places to shoot in.

We love seeing our engagement images out on display at weddings. On the right you can see Katie and Joe’s guest signing book from their engagement session ready and waiting for the guests to arrive. By the end of the night it was full of well wishes, advice, and inside jokes.

While I might have been the one to press the shutter release on the images on the right, it was really a collaborative effort between Genevieve and I. I scouted the location, Genevieve got the two of them set up, and we both ran around with handheld continuous lights painting Katie and Joe with light during the ten second exposure.

Coordinating for this wedding was done by the lovely Valarie and her team at Kirkbrides Floral design by Grande Designs. The peacock feathers were a fun touch
