Nathaniel and Valerie’s wedding at Josaphat Arts Hall

by James ~ December 7th, 2009. Filed under: Cleveland Weddings.

Nathaniel and Valerie’s wedding on Saturday in Cleveland was the perfect way to finish off the 2009 wedding shooting season. Great people, fantastic locations, top notch event design, and a rockin’ dance party came together to make for a very memorable wedding. I started off at Nathaniel and Valerie’s apartment where the guys where getting ready in between Rockband bouts while Genevieve met up with Valerie and the girls at the nearby Embassy Suites. While at the apartment, I picked up on the fact that Nathaniel and I are very much in the same wavelength in terms of music. He even turned me on to a very cool album by The Dead Weather which is downloading into my iTunes playlist as I type.

The ceremony took place at the very historic Old Stone Church on Public Square with the reception at the beautifully unique Josaphat Arts Hall. Scott Jones from Jerry Bruno Productions did an amazing job keeping the dance floor jumping all night and he even busted out something I hadn’t seen at a wedding in a long time: a fog machine!

The photographers were obviously more than a little touched as many of these show the gift of that touch. Whether it be the use or absence of color or the eye-catching framing and vistas, these memories will be re-lived by all who view them. I REALLY liked the shot of the little maids (although missing one).

These pictures don’t look like “normal” wedding pictures. They look like material for a coffee table book or a photo essay in a magazine. Is the photographer a genius or do Val and Nathaniel just look marvelous?
