Kevin and Carolina’s wedding at St. Dominic and The Union Club

Monday, August 30th, 2010

Astute blog readers might remember Kevin and Carolina from a few months ago when we shot their engagement session. Well, their day finally came, and what a day it was. Weather in Northeast Ohio just doesn’t get any better than it was on Saturday. Perfect temperatures and low humidity made being and shooting outside a joy. The ceremony took place at the beautiful Church of St. Dominic in Shaker Heights followed by a reception at The Union Club in downtown Cleveland. Our new friend Ryan from Chicago based Beep Media kept the dance floor bouncing all night and reminded us once again that we don’t hear nearly enough New Order at wedding receptions.

Sisters London and Hudson pose in Matilda Jane

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

Sisters London and Hudson are quite the pair: active, adorable, sometimes serious and loving to practice posing for the camera. With a mom that is a trunk keeper for Matilda Jane, they also have quite the wardrobe.

Steve and Hilary’s wedding at the Catawba Island Club

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

Hilary and Steve took a big gamble when planning a lakeside wedding but it paid off big time. With their love of water, it made sense to have a wedding close to and overlooking Lake Erie. With the cool breeze, no rain and lovely sunset I’m not sure the couple could have ordered a better day. An added benefit was to have Hilary’s uncle bring his restaured Chevy pickup truck for photos which is the only reason Steve agreed to marry Hilary :)

Thank you for including us in your Catawba Island Club wedding! It was a night we will not soon forget.

Grace and Kim’s Wedding at Severance Hall

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

As foretold by a homeless guy in NYC, Kim and Grace were wed this past Saturday at the beautiful Fairmount Presbyterian Church with a gorgeous reception at the historic Severance Hall in Cleveland Ohio. Legend has it that a homeless man spotted Kim and Grace in NYC while they were on one of their early dates and boldly proclaimed that they were in fact a match made in heaven. If I had to guess, I’d say that’s a story that will survive and be passed down for many generations.

Sean and Keri’s Cleveland wedding

Friday, August 20th, 2010

With close to two years between the date Sean and Keri booked us and the actual wedding date, we had plenty of time to talk plans, schedules and build up a lot of anticipation. Sure enough the wedding exceeded our expectations. It was refreshing to witness such a personal and meaningful ceremony.

Large bridal parties can be hard to organize and photograph but not this group: maybe they have found a side career “bridal party for hire”. It was such a fun and cooperative group. Thanks for the good time and laughs everyone!

Our partners in crime that day include none other than 2nd Mile Productions and Scott Jones from Jerry Bruno

Ryan and Kate’s Wedding at the Union Club

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

Ryan and Kate’s wedding was the latest installment of what just might be our longest running legacy of referrals, spanning back more than five years. Amy and Chris referred Julie and Bryan who referred Stephanie and Chris who referred Erin and Dave who referred Ryan and Kate. If you dig through the blog long enough, [...]

Ashley and Nick’s Engagement Session in Kent, Ohio

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

For Ashley and Nick’s engagement session, I got to travel out to a part of Ohio that I don’t end up in very often; Kent, Ohio. Ashley and Nick first met while attending Kent State, so it only made sense to use the campus and downtown area for their engagement session.

Little Arabella turns one!

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

Arabella enjoyed a solo portrait session without her two brother in honor of her birthday. This little girl is so expressive. I’m sure her mom sees even more variety than the stern to giggly expressions I captured during the session. Happy birthday cutie!

Rupesh and Ajanta’s Indian wedding at the Cleveland Renaissance

Monday, August 16th, 2010

One of the hardest parts about shooting Rupesh and Ajanta’s wedding was trying to keep the number of blog images down to a reasonable number. With so much going on, and so many things to photograph, this blog post could go on an on for several pages. Even though the festivities officially began four or five days earlier, and were set to continue the following weekend in Texas, we were able to meet up with Ajanta and Rupesh for the climax of the wedding celebration; the baraat, ceremony, and the formal reception, all taking place at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Cleveland.

Rachel and Viktor’s wedding at the Ritz-Carlton in Cleveland

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

It seems like our blog has been enjoying quite a bit of international flare recently and Rachel and Viktor’s wedding at the Ritz-Carlton in Cleveland is no exception. Currently hailing from London, England, Rachel and Viktor came all the way back to Rachel’s home to be married. Family and friends came from England, Sweden, Poland, and Isreal to be with Rachel and Viktor on their wedding day.

Brian and Padi’s wedding at the Hyatt Arcade

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

Brian and Padi’s rock and roll wedding took place at Hyatt Arcade in Cleveland. With Brian’s experience with photography and playing in a band, we knew had to deliver some outstandingly cool images. Good thing the couple opted for a first glance and everyone was on board for some back alley creative images. Thanks for being game for just about anything! It was hard picking favorites and we can’t wait to share the rest of the images.

Pete and Ariel’s wedding and garden reception at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens

Monday, August 9th, 2010

Pete and Ariel’s vintage and travel themed wedding was a sight to behold. The venue selections, transportation, attire, and reception decor at the Botanical Gardens all came together to transport the guests to another time and place. Pete and Ariel’s history is about as storied as any couple we have shot so far. The relationship spans multiple continents which brought guest from places as far as England, Croatia and even New Zealand. You can read a little bit more on how they met in their e-session blog post here. Now, on to the photos.

Feature on Style Me Pretty

Friday, August 6th, 2010

My mind is always racing with new ideas to photograph so when I mentioned doing a special and fun project to Valarie of Kirkbrides Wedding Planning, I was thrilled to hear she was on board. She took the idea and ran with it beyond my expectations. A team of Ohio wedding professionals donated their time, energy and creative talents for a one of a kind shoot. The results of which can be seen on Style Me Pretty.

Ryan and Alexis’ Clifton Club wedding

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

I’m not sure if Ryan and Alexis planned their wedding around the world soccer cup because he is such an avid soccer fan or not. Regardless Ryan and the groomsmen were able to kick back and watch an exciting game prior to the wedding at Clifton Club. While the humidity was not our friend that day, I’m glad we had the assistance of Gina at Shi Shi events as well as flowers from Fresh Tendrils and cakes (yes plural) from none other than White Flower Cake Shoppe.

Brad and Amanda’s wedding at the Courtyard Marriott

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

They played it smart when planning their Canton wedding. Since their reception was so close to the Jackson Hot Air Balloon Festival, the guests and couple enjoyed a lovely fireworks display at the end of the night. We of course couldn’t pass up the photo opportunity it presented.

Chagrin Falls portraits by the falls with the Meneelys

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

Every three years the Meneelys pose for some new family portraits. I think it’s a wonderful tradition that most families forget to do. Young children change from year to year but once they are teens, doing portraits every 3 years is a great way to capture your evolving family. I was privileged to have them choose me to photograph them this time around, by the falls in Chagrin Falls.
