Larry and Amy’s wedding at Sammy’s in the flats

Monday, September 27th, 2010

Most brides know to expect a few minor hangups on their wedding day but the city of Cleveland called to inform Larry and Amy of a major hangup just days before their wedding. An art festival with a one day man-made waterfall from Superior bridge could drench the guests and would prevent them from having their ceremony down by the river where they originally planned. This did not seem to phase Larry and Amy who were in high spirits all day. Thankfully Sammy’s in the Flats pulled through to host both the ceremony and reception.

Andrea and Nick’s wedding at the Canton Cultural Center

Friday, September 24th, 2010

Andrea and Nick’s wedding is the second wedding that we have shot for Andrea’s family, the first being Sean and Julia’s wedding from a year ago. Surprisingly, I think I made it through the whole day without seriously putting my foot in my mouth. Surprising because while it was mostly the same cast of characters, everyone was playing a different roll. Compared to a year ago, The sister’s boyfriend is now the groom, the sister is now the bride, the bride is now a bridesmaid, the groom is now a groomsman, and the parents of the groom are now the parents of the bride. Got that? Yeah, me neither.

Stay tuned…

Nick and Andrea’s wedding was pretty sweet and it had an interesting surprise, but alas it will have to wait until later this week as we are out of town until Thursday. Stay tuned!

Mentoring classes

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

Over the past couple of years we’ve received numerous requests for people wanting to learn from us through mentoring, workshops or photography classes. We love the idea of teaching and helping others fine tune their photography skills and business acumen but did not feel ready to offer anything until recently. Instead of teaching a one [...]

Paul and Lindsey’s Wedding at La Centre

Monday, September 13th, 2010

Some of you may remember Paul and Lindsey from their engagement session that Genevieve shot a few months ago. Well, their day finally came! This past Saturday, Paul and Lindsey were wed at St Joseph’s near their home in Avon Lake. After the ceremony, we headed over to the beautiful foyer of Severance Hall for photos with the bridal party. It was the perfect time of day for the room and we were able to enjoy some gorgeous natural light from within that amazing setting

Igor and Karen’s wedding at The Beechmont Country Club

Friday, September 10th, 2010

This past Sunday was a joyful yet emotional day as Karen married her childhood friend and confidant, Igor, at The Beechmont Country Club. When Igor first came with his family to the States from Russia at the age of six, it was Karen who befriended him, showed him around the school, and helped him with his English. Evidently, Igor never forgot that act of kindness, nor did Karen forget Igor during the period when they went to separate schools

Clara welcomes baby brother Brooks

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

Clara just had the joy of welcoming her baby brother Brooks into the family. Brooks is one laid-back baby so we had fun capturing various photos for his first portrait session. If dad has his way, he will become an avid fisherman. It was a pleasure meeting you little boy!

Mark and Maureen’s Wedding at the State Theatre in Downtown Cleveland

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

Mark and Maureen met for the first time at the annual Jump Back Ball (meet Maureen and Mark 26 seconds into the video) at the State Theatre in Playhouse Square so what better place would there have been to have their reception? The ceremony took place at the beautiful St. Paul’s Shrine on Euclid then off we went to the Italian Cultural Gardens which Maureen’s grandfather played an integral roll in creating many years ago.

Lauren and Anthony’s wedding at St. Christophers and The Ritz Carlton in Cleveland

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

Both Lauren and Anthony started their day at the Ritz Carlton then off we went to St. Christopher in Rocky River for the ceremony. Weather can be a bit unpredictable in March (well, some would say predictably awful) for Anthony and Lauren wisely secured a time slot for an indoor location to shoot with the bridal party. We were still able to spend some time outside but it didn’t take long for the 40 degree weather to catch up to the bridesmaids in their sleeveless dresses. Lauren toughed it out for longer than I would have predicted and we were able to get some great stuff as a result.
