Matt and Meghann’s Wedding at United Methodist Church of Kent and The Bertram Inn

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011

For those of you who weren’t at this wedding (and for those that were, you’re going to hear the story one more time) Matt and Meghann had a very interesting first date. Meghann, being an avid runner, suggested they go on a run together. What Matt wasn’t aware of is that to Meghann, “going for a run” means fourteen miles of pavement beating. If I have the story right, Matt kept with it until mile twelve then spent the last two miles babying his feet and muttering choice words under his breath. At that point, I speculate that it might not have felt like a good decision to go on that run, but looking back, I doubt he has any regrets about that day.

Brian and Bryn’s English Garden Wedding at the O’Neil House

Tuesday, May 24th, 2011

Bryn and Brian’s wedding this past Saturday was a delightful morning garden ceremony at The O’Neil House in Akron. The morning ceremony and the garden theme beget a list of unique aspects to the day, from the brunch reception serenaded by a four string quartet, croquette, mimosas and more. The early finish meant that we had just about as much time as we wanted to create a wide variety of beautiful portraits of the two of them both at the O’Neil House and in nearby downtown Akron.

New office manager

Monday, May 23rd, 2011

We recently posted about looking for a new office manager and were surprise to receive Tanya’s resume. Surprised I say because she seemed almost too good to be true. We already have high hopes for her and she’s barely been with us 10 days. Tanya was born in Russia, raised in Israel and moved to [...]

Spring baby about to arrive

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

Caitlin had a lovely birthday surprise planned for her husband in which I played a part. I took some maternity portraits at their home in Clinton and included their son Jack in some images as well. Since I have a penchant for old historical homes, I was thrilled to see their house and all the options we had to work with. The house and yard was a great backdrop and of course made Jack be very at ease for the photos.

Michael and Brandi’s elegant wedding at St John’s cathedral and old Courthouse

Monday, May 16th, 2011

How does one describe Michael and Brandi’s wedding at St John’s cathedral and the old Cleveland courthouse without being repetitive with the word amazing? How about saying it was sophisticated, stunning, classy and elegant? So much effort went into planning this fantastic day that I knew the results would be nothing short of amazing. How could it not be with the coordination of Tricia at Always Eventful, the flowers from Stephen Tokar, food by Bon Appetit, music by Jerry Bruno Orchestra, cake by Phyllis Lester and video by 2nd Mile.

Melissa and Jason’s Smoky Mountain Wedding

Thursday, May 12th, 2011

When Jason and Melissa original hired us to shoot their wedding, everyone involved was planning a wedding for Youngstown, Ohio, so we were equal parts surprised and excited to find out that the wedding had been moved to the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee and that they wanted to bring us along for the ride! We spent the better part of Friday driving through the park scouting locations throughout the mountain range with a break in the afternoon to touch base with Jason and Melissa at the Church in Gatlinburg. I will say that a day on the job spent driving through one of our National Parks checking out trails, vistas, and overlooks is a pretty good day.

Sarah and Chad’s rainy engagement session

Monday, May 9th, 2011

Back before spring had started to bloom, I met up with Sarah and Chad for their engagement session. Since they had just flown into town that day and had a short stay in Ohio, we didn’t really have the opportunity to postpone the session when likelihood of rain became clear. They picked Sarah’s old high school as a backdrop for the session and what a lovely place it is. Thankfully we managed to find enough covered areas to get some great images (even I did not stay dry the whole session). If these are the images we get from a short, chilly and rainy session, I can just imagine what we will get on their gorgeous wedding day!

Lia and Micah’s Wedding at Windows on the River

Wednesday, May 4th, 2011

This spring’s peculear weather patterns gave us some nice skyspaces and textures for our time at Voinovich Park with the bridal park then it was off to Windows on the River where we got to work with the very talented Next Exit from Columbus.

Roman the redhead

Monday, May 2nd, 2011

Jannelle and Ben hold a special place in my heart. They were the second wedding we ever blogged back in 2006. (Can’t believe we’ve been blogging for that long.) We also still have a copy of their wedding album at the studio and use some of their images to this day in various promotional materials. With their sweet and tender nature I can’t imagine NOT liking Ben and Jannelle. Now 5 years later they welcome little Roman into their lives and it’s so fun to see how he’s already turned their world upside down in the best of ways. His smile is infectious! I can’t wait to see who’s temperament he takes after because it’s obvious who he looks already like.
