They played it smart when planning their Canton wedding. Since their reception was so close to the Jackson Hot Air Balloon Festival, the guests and couple enjoyed a lovely fireworks display at the end of the night. We of course couldn’t pass up the photo opportunity it presented.

We are so thrilled to announce one of our lovely couples is currently being feature on Snippet and Ink. If you have never been to the blog, you are missing out! Kathryn is a sweetheart that fills her blog with daily wedding inspiration along with some budget friendly advice.
The wedding being featured is the one of Brett and Julia. If you follow our blog, you’ll probably remember their wedding inspired by old world European meet post-war America at the Canton Club in November. They had some lovely and very unique touches that makes it a great feature on Snippet and Ink. See the feature HERE.

Brett and Julia met while working ar a large music distribution company in California. One of the perks of a job like this are copious amounts of music sitting around one’s cubicle which I would assume was a likely source of the music that Julia sent to us. What was scary was just how precisely she had nailed our musical tastes. Several of the albums that she sent are still in heavy rotation around the office.

I’m willing to bet that when Travis wondered into the jewelry store where Andrea worked to buy a watch, he had no idea that that watch purchase would lead them here. I suppose one could say that walking in for a watch, then walking out with a watch and a future wife is a bit more than he bargained for, but I didn’t hear anyone complaining. But there we were, many months later, getting ready to celebrate with Andrea and Travis at the beautiful Glenmoor Country Club in Canton, Ohio.

Ryan and Shona’s wedding had a lot of things going for it: beautiful weather, a great location with a ton of variety, a bride with a very strong design sense and a groom with a great sense of humor who together make a couple who are totally into each other. We had some time before [...]

Friday’s wedding with Brian and Erin was a little bit different for us as the ceremony location was the closest to home we have ever worked. We have become quite accustomed to the 50+ mile drive to Cleveland and back so the four or five block drive to Bethel Temple right on Malone University’s campus didn’t even feel right. While I never attended Malone, I have known dozens who have, and spent untold hours on campus so this really felt like shooting in my back yard.

Michael and Katie did it right. Somewhere around 200 of their friends and family came from all over the country and beyond to take over Glenmoor Country Club for the weekend. Over the course of three days, they had time to catch up, eat together, play tennis, golf, and football and finally, to witness the marriage of Michael and Katie, and to celebrate with them. I can only imagine how this would help to bring the members of each other’s families who might not have known each other together.

It has certainly been a busy year for Tim and Kim with two cross-country moves, finishing up a doctorate degree, new jobs, and planning a wedding. If any of this stressed Tim or Kim out, you would have never known it by being around them on their wedding day. Even the constant threat of heavy, [...]

Smart, sweet, fun loving, with great taste are just few words I would use to describe Brianna and Coleman. They are such a great compliment to one another, it’s hard to imagine them apart.
What’s better then one stunning dress and an amazing pair of shoes? Why TWO of course! It makes for double the fun. [...]

Being that Davene and Andrew where the very first couple to book us for a 2009 date, I think it’s safe to say that we’ve been anticipating this wedding for quite some time. Tricia Dever of Always Eventful has been involved in the planning from word one, so we knew it was going to be a fantastic day, and it did not disapoint. We started the day in Boardman, Ohio with a morning ceremony at St. James Meeting House, one of the oldest churches in the country. Following the ceremony, we took our time exploring the extensive park system in Youngstown, which provided all kinds of great locations to shoot.

We’ve been anticipating Heather and Bryan’s wedding for quite some time, especially since Genevieve met up with them in their hometown of Chicago for an engagement session last summer. From start to finish, the wedding was well planned and well executed which was largely the result of Heather and Bryan’s attention to detail and the fact that they had the exception staff at Glenmoor Country Club to work with.

Hmmm, kinda lost track of this one, I guess. I seems like it was forever ago that we submitted some images for WPJA’s 2008 4th quarter image contest and we had no idea that anything of ours had placed until we got a few congratulatory e-mails from some other photographers who had also competed. Thanks [...]

Bill and Debbie’s wedding at Saturday marks the official conclusion of our May-October wedding shooting marathon for the year. We have the next two weekends off which will be nice to rest, recharge, and get caught up on some post processing and album design. It felt great to end the peak-season with a fantastic wedding. We found some great spots near Atwood lake at the absolute perfect time for some awesome late-evening light.

Of all the couples we have photographed in the last five years, Alejo and Jodi just might be the most well-travelled of them all. Jodi’s job as an oceanographer and Alejo’s job as a crew member of a ship that maintains off-shore oil rigs has taken them to the ends of the earth. Really now, who else can claim that they met their spouse for the first time in Antartica. Antartica! Each table at the reception was labelled with a destination that Al and Jodi had been to together, and it’s quite a staggering list.

Almost exactly a year before their wedding, we had the pleasure of meeting Karri and Steve at a small bridal show in the very room where they were married this past Friday. The Canton Mckinley Grand Hotel provided the perfect environment for their wedding and the staff did a fantastic job keeping everything rolling smoothly.

Brent and Beth were blessed with an absolutely perfect day for their outdoor wedding ceremony at Fieldcrest of North Canton. Luckily, Brent and the guys were smart enough to avoid black tuxedos which led to a lot less sweating compared to most outdoor cermonies. Good call, guys! We had a lot of fun with their engagement session earlier this summer which really made us look forward to their wedding.

Erin and Ely’s wedding at Glenmoor Country Club in Canton, Ohio was a beautifully intimate event with friends and family from both near and far (in some cases, very far) in attendance. Ely has a very interesting job as an editor for 20th Century Fox cutting together previews and trailors for major motion pictures. It was great to see how they worked that into a theme for the wedding with the props for the place card table and centerpieces.

We’ve been looking forward to Matt and Elizabeth’s wedding here in Canton for quite some time. They made it very clear to us that their photography was very important to them, and that they would do everything they could to make our jobs easier. We can live with that!

Thank you so much to everyone that came out last week to our open house to celebrate the opening of our new studio. We had a great time even if it was hot a blazes that day. The AC was running full tilt the whole day and it just couldn’t keep up.
We saw friends, family, [...]

Remember the wedding contest we did at the beginning of the year? Well Scott and Christina were the winner and I had the pleasure of photographing them.
One thing I must say, there was no shortage of emotions at Scott and Christina’s wedding. There are times I am happy I have a camera to hide [...]

When we were working with Al and Jodi to figure out where to do their engagement session, they mentioned that they loved movies, and often went to the Canton Palace Theatre together to see them. Perfect! We both new that’s exactly where we should do their session.
Congrats Al and Jodi, we’re looking forward to shooting [...]

Friends and Family traveled great distances to join David and Tricia for their wedding at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church here in Canton, Ohio. I think Tricia explained the day quite well when right before the ceremony, she told me about her wedding: “Simple execution – that’s all we need; simple execution”. Well, simple execution is what she got. There weren’t a lot of embellishments for her wedding day, just ample amounts of what really mattered to Tricia and David – relationships and togetherness. That, I can respect.

We had been trying to do a session with Paul and Niki since February. Part of the idea was to do something challenging for us to help push us creatively. Things kept getting postponed but finally we made it happen.
One of tough part of the day to shoot, is at dusk. When the sun has [...]

Congrats to Tom and Eleni on their fabulous and very well attended Greek wedding here in Canton, Ohio. This was our second wedding at St. Haralambos and it is fast becoming one of our favorite places to shoot in Canton. The altar is beautiful and the architecture makes it very unique. Once we were finished at the Church, we all headed over to Skyland Pines Country Club for photos and the party where the Stigma band provided the entertainment.

Both Genevieve and I have really come to enjoy urban engagement sessions, so we were quite happy to hear that we would be shooting Brent and Beth’s engagement session in our very own little downtown Canton. The idea of downtown Canton probably doesn’t conjure up grand, romantic images and themes in most people’s minds, but [...]

Sean and Julia both come from Italian families so we knew we would be in for a treat(s) at their wedding. They certainly did not disappoint from a stunning bride (Sean looked good too), gorgeously decorated church, tasteful details, a violin serenade during dinner and tons of cookies for dessert made by the family. It was a pleasure to capture all those things but even more so the joy and celebration that was written on Sean and Julia’s face as well as on their friends and families.

Well, we finished off the year with a fantastic and very unique (at least for us) wedding. Vasilios and Elenie planned a beautiful Greek Orthodox wedding at St. Haralambos in Canton with a fantastic reception at the new and very promising Metropolitan Center in Downtown Canton.
Even though the ceremony didn’t end until after 5PM, [...]

It was obvious on Saturday that Katie and her Mom put a lot of care into planning a wedding that with the help of Tricia Dever of Always Eventful and the staff at Glenmoor, turned out to be an elegant, well-oiled event. They took a chance with an “East Coast” style reception timeline which had people up and dancing between courses; a fantastic way to eliminate any chance of boredom or monotony during the reception.

had a really, really tough time narrowing things down to just a dozen images from Brian and Amanda’s wedding this past Saturday. With 24 bridal party members and lots of family, there was just a lot going on at any given moment. One thing that made the day a lot of fun is that we got to work with our favorite videographers and good friends Brian and Susy Morris from 2nd Mile Productions. Brian put did one of his now famous “Same Day Edits” which basically amounts to a suicide editing session between the ceremony and reception in order to a have four minute video recap for the reception. It was the first time we got to see one, and I must say, it was amazing. You can see what they put together on his blog here:

July 14th 2007 turned out to be a very big day for not only Jeremy and Julia, but for Genevieve and I as well, as you have either already read about, or are soon to read about in my next blog post. It was an elegantly simple affair with a strong fabric of family [...]

Last Saturday, we headed off to Wooster, Ohio to photograph Jodi and Larry’s wedding at the College of Wooster. This is the second wedding we have photographed in Jodi’s family, the first being Jason and Robin’s back in August of 2005. Seeing so many familiar faces made the whole day a lot of [...]

Brody and Monika’s wedding was a refreshing change of pace. It took place on a horse farm about 20 minutes outside of Marion, Ohio, which for those that are not familiar with the area, is the middle of nowhere.
It was really cool to see the very eclectic crowd, ranging from Brooklyn, to California, [...]

After being together for 7 years, Mike and Robin planned their wedding in a few short months. Friends and family traveled from as far as Florida, England and Ireland to celebrate with them. What a gorgeous day it turned out to be. Despite some initial glitches all the details came together beautifully.
Getting ready and [...]

What started out as a pretty rough day turned into one fantastic wedding for Brent and Victoria at the Glenmoor Country Club on Saturday. Victoria spent the morning at the emergency room for a back injury that happened several weeks earlier, but decided to haunt her the morning of her wedding anyway. I’m [...]

It was a bitter cold day for their wedding last Saturday but that didn’t dampen the spirits of Todd and Sheri. In fact Sheri was a real trooper and chose not to wear her coat when we asked to do some photos outside in the snow. It was good practice for their honeymoon in the [...]

The Friday before Christmas we had the pleasure to photograph Emily and Matthew. Normally the bride is the nervous one but Emily seemed totally poised, calm and definitely happy waiting to meet Matthew before the ceremony for some formals. Matthew on the other hand appeared nervous but once he saw his bride, he was finally [...]

Despite the cold weather, Leah had the fall wedding she had hoped for. Glenmoor was a great compliment in colors to the golden yellows and reds already present. Her dress was simple and yet so elegant complimenting her figure. Chad was also looking handsome.
Leah’s daughter, Aiden, was one of the flower girls and an [...]

A gorgeous wedding at Glenmoor with a gorgeous couple… We even lucked out and the rain stopped early enough for us to take the formals outside on the greens. The funnest part was driving the golf carts (even the bridal party said so).

Ever known a couple with a heart of gold? We had the pleasure of photographing one this past Saturday at Raintree Country Club. Ashley and Eric are so obviously in love with each other and God. It can be seen in their words and actions which is truly refreshing.
Eric’s surprise pink sapphire ring certainly got [...]

If you were in the Canton area this past Saturday, July 22nd, you might have noticed sporadic rain and ominous clouds. That wasn’t enough to dampen the spirits of Kim and Doug on their wedding day. They were surrounded by friends and family, some that came all the way from Holland. It was nice to [...]

Tina and Mike are beautiful people inside and out. Their contagious smiles and attitudes is no wonder they have plenty of devoted friends. It was fun just spending the day with them.
How they managed to stay cool and composed on such a hot and humid July 15th, is beyond me. Their wedding was very elegant [...]

We had a great time capturing Tricia and Stephen’s wedding this past Saturday June 17th. This couple and their friends are all involved in theater so they are very expressive and not camera shy. We all had a blast! The ceremony was at St Joseph’s and the reception at the Players Guild both in Canton. [...]

We started Erin and Ja’s session near our place with a “cash advance” place. Yes, they can make for interesting background. Then we went downtown Canton for some more urban stuff. Ja wanted some artsy photos so I hope these are to his liking. I’m glad he asked. We had a great time and were [...]
