Scott and Jen’s wedding this past Saturday was one of those all to rare weddings with a schedule that provided almot more than enough time to hang out with, photograph, and experiment with the bridal party and the bride and groom. With almost three hours to use up, we had the opportunity to persue ideas and inspirations that sometimes have to be backburnered because of time contraints. This worked out well for Scott and Jen as they made it very clear to us that their wedding photography was very, very high on their priority list. Combine that with absolutely perfect weather and shooting conditions and you have a recipe for a ton of really cool material.

This past Saturday, we had the pleasure of taking part in Alison and Austin’s wedding at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens. Austin did his best to warn us about their bridal party because evidently, Austin had accumulated years worth of payback in the form of pranks, jokes, and stunts during social events and there was a good chance that there were some who would be looking to settle some old scores. Nothing got too out of hand, thankfully, but seeing their friend and family dressed up as Austin and Alison in childhood photographs was pretty funny!

Ok, so we’re a little late getting this post up. Being without power since Sunday has really been a drag but we’re going to try to keep plugging away anyway.
Lisa and Ed originally planned to be married back in April but at some point over the winter, they decided they didn’t want to wait that long and decided to elope in Key West. They still wanted to celebrate with their friends and family so they planned this “night of merry making” at the Pine Lake Trout Club in Chagrin Falls, Ohio just for that purpose.

I’ve been looking forward to Michael and Lindsay’s wedding a little while now. One reason: Lindsay is the cousin of two other couples we photographed so we knew there would be familiar faces and that we would have a great time. Reason two: Michael is from France so I’d have the opportunity to speak french with him and his family. Reason three: they loved the idea of using industrial backgrounds for photos and scoped out places for us. What’s not to love about this couple?

Because Jeff and Tracy planned their Cleveland wedding from Chicago, we didn’t get a chance to meet them until just a few short weeks before the wedding would take place. As we learned about the various details throughout the planning process, we got the impression that this would be both a very unique, and classy event. When we finally got to meet Tracy and Jeff, they confirmed our suspicions and with the help of event planner extraordinaire, Valarie Kirkbride of Kirkbride’s Events, the wedding met and exceeded our expectations.

Evidently, being one of eight siblings pretty much ensures that there will never be a dull moment when you get the family together. That’s at least how it felt spending the day with Meredith, Greg, and his seven siblings at their wedding in Strongsville, Ohio. From the games of pit and table hockey [...]

We have been looking forward to photographing Matt and Megan’s wedding for quite a while now, and when the guest list topped 1000 at one point, we knew we were going to have a very interesting day. While the size of the guest list and bridal party (twenty-two) certainly made this wedding unique, what really stood out in my mind was what great people Matt and Megan was to be around. After getting to know them a little, it’s not that suprising that so many people would want to be a witness to their marriage. Megan is a very tender spirit while Matt’s good nature kept the mood light and fun.

Welcome to the third installment of the Amy-Julie-Stephanie wedding trifecta - three weddings spanning three years with all three in each other’s bridal parties. We’ve had an absolute blast getting to know this group of friends and we have been quite honored to photograph all three of these weddings.

This past Saturday, we had the pleasure of photographing Steve and Tori’s wedding at Deluca’s Place in Lorain. We were honored as a professional graphic designer and even a wedding photographer in a previous life, Tori chose to have us cover her day. The invitations and the lighting arrangement under the pavilion (both designed by Tori) were amazing!

I had a great time photographing Jonathon and Tricia almost 2 years ago so I knew I would also have a great time with their son Caden. I’m glad I was able to capture this sweet and peaceful side of him before he starts crawling all over the place and keeping his parents busy.
Caden definitely [...]

We have been looking forward to Brian and Katie’s wedding for several reasons:
#1 they totally trust us for photos were willing to go anywhere we recommended in the 3 hour brake between ceremony and reception
#2 they chose some fantastic vendors (and I don’t mean us) that make our day even more enjoyable. One great example was Scott and Carla from Moonstruck Productions but keep on reading to see the others.
#3 we photographed Katie’s sister’s wedding so it was like a mini-reunion to be with them. It all added up to a lot of fun!

What a weekend last weekend was. The Sunday after Dan and Christie’s wedding, we headed back up to Beachwood to join Kevin and Isabel for the wedding at Landerhaven. It was obvious that both Kevin and Isabel have highly developed senses of style and aesthetics, which carried over to many parts of their wedding from Kevin’s suit, to the table decor, the cake and many others. I think the Rabbi nailed it when he could tell that Isabel had chosen the cup used in the ceremony because it “had her grace about it.”

o much to blog, so little time. After two engagement sessions on Friday, we headed up to Kirkland, Ohio to celebrate the wedding of Daniel and Christie at the Mooreland Mansion on Saturday. We always have a great time shooting at the mansion, and Dan and Christie made it especially easy for us. We love it when couples give us some time to play and experiment without being on a super time crunch, which happens from time to time. Dan and Christie were both very comfortable in front of the camera, and even more importantly, were very comfortable with each other.

Jeff and Natalie’s relationship stretches back to their high school days at Chagrin Falls where they met and fell in love. The football field, her locker where Jeff had scribbled some “Jeff loves Natalie” graffiti and the band room all played especially significant roles in the formative years of their relationship. The two [...]

Mary and Erik got our season off to a great start on Saturday. We were both hoping we hadn’t lost our edge since we haven’t shot a wedding since January, but once we started shooting, we fell into a groove right away and the ideas and inspiration flowed. It’s always a little risky hoping for outdoor photos in early April, but Mary and Erik got a really nice break in the weather and we were able to have all kinds of fun near their reception site at the Old Courthouse in Downtown Cleveland.

This last Saturday, we had the opportunity to photograph the awesome wedding of Ashley and Brandon. It didn’t take long for us to figure out that these two and their bridal party were going to be a lot of fun, and they did not disappoint. The atmosphere the whole day was high energy and fun which carried over to the dance floor very well. Brandon is an Army Ranger stationed in Texas with 43 soldiers under him, so I can definitely understand why he would want to let loose and have some fun!

How do I begin to describe kindness and sweetness of Danielle and Michael and not to mention smartness? For starters, because of a water main brake they took the time to write and draw out maps for a detour route when they should have been getting ready. They frequently checked in with us making sure we had enough food and drinks and I know they took good care of all the guests that traveled to celebrate this special day with them. James and I feel lucky and blessed they asked us to photograph their wedding. They made our job easy by showing their genuine emotions throughout the day.

Yeah, it’s a little risky planning engagement sessions this late in the year, but Ashley and Brandon lucked out with clear weather, bareable temperatures, and a TON of wind. I had some indoor and covered locations in mind just in case, but thankfully, we didn’t have to rely on them. Stay tuned for their [...]

Bryan and Julie gathered with about 90 of their close friends and family at the Hyatt Arcade in downtown Cleveland to celebrate what would turn out to be a very emotional day for those involved. Julie’s Mother passed away some years ago, but her presence there was palpable.

It turns out that a morning ceremony combined with an evening reception makes for a really long day, but the time was well spent with Mike and Cheri and their entourage of no less than 18 bridesmaids and groomsmen this past Saturday. We arrived at Cheri’s parents house bright and early to get the [...]

Brian and Kim were the first couple to book us for a 2007 wedding, and happened to pick the most popular date in recent history to have a wedding. We could have booked the mystical 777 about seven times over, but all I can say is that I’m glad Brian and Kim got to us first. It was a fantastic day with a really cool couple that was a lot of fun to work with. It’s not easy planning a wedding from another city (they are Chicago residents), but they pulled off a beautiful wedding with the help of the Cleveland Marriott Downtown anyway.

What a fun day we had with Heather, Patrick, their bridal parties and family despite the heat. Everyone was pretty easygoing which made for some fun and laid-back photos. It’s obvious these people know how to have a blast together.

Our first double wedding weekend started on Saturday May 26th with Jen and Joe. They are such a great couple with wonderful taste from decor to food and fashion. This past Saturday December 2nd, was a cold one in Cleveland. Anthony, Patti and the whole bridal party were a great sport about doing outside photos. It probably helped that we did a couple stops at bars for “warming” beverages.
Patricia was stunning in a Vera Wang dress. The overlapping translucent fabric and black bow [...]

Amy and David both worked hard to plan a stylish retro wedding with an emphasis on the city which they like so much. Those efforts were rewared with a cool atmosphere and gorgeous day. While being 50s oriented, the wedding kept a modern, fun and hip feel to it.

This is the kind of couple you would love to relax and share a few drinks with. They are fun and laid back (despite the minister showing up minutes before she was to walk down the aisle) with a great style. So maybe I’m a little biased since she chose red as a main color. [...]
