Nicole and Dan’s Engagement Session in Ohio City

Now that we are finally pulling out of what has been the busiest fall/early winter since we started doing photography, we are looking forward to getting caught up on blogging some portrait and engagement sessions in these slower months where weddings aren’t happening every weekend.

First off is Nicole and Dan’s engagement session in Ohio City. As we walked through the streets near the Great Lakes Brewing company, there was a strong scent of cinnamon and coffee cake in the air which likely came from the brewing of the (in)famous Great Lakes Christmas Ale which was probably in full swing at the time. Dan was a little apprehensive about being in front of the camera at first but unbeknownst to him, he’s a natural, and the session turned out great. We’re looking forward to their wedding which will take place at the new 700 Beta in early September, so keep your eyes on the blog for that when the time comes.

Jen and Justin’s Engagement Session in Rocky River

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of meeting up with Jen and Justin for their engagement session in Rocky River, Ohio. We started out at the Crocker Park shopping center where Jen admits to spending a little bit TOO much time, then we headed over towards Huntington Beach in hopes of some sunset photos. Nicole and Adam’s Engagement Session in Downtown, Akron

Nicole and Adam have a lot of history in Downtown Akron, so it just made sense to do their engagement session there. They met while at work at a local Hospital, they are both fans of the local baseball team, and they often hang out at one of the local bars that happens to be owned by a friend of theirs. We had a great time roaming around and I think we came away with some great images! Keep an eye on the blog for the conclusion this coming April.

Brittany and Brian’s love for dogs and each other

We’ve recently had a few engagement sessions recently that could not be rescheduled even if the weather refused to cooperate. Brittany and Brian’s engagement session was one such session. With their wedding taking place at the end of the year and his football coaching, the session had to happen that day. Their session took place in Chesterland and had to include their other loves: their 4 dogs. We endured some rain to get great images including the last image bellow which is my and the couples favorite. Glad we persevered for that image alone!

Karen and Don’s Engagement Session

Karen loves her dogs, and Don loves the outdoors, so what better setting then a beautifully natural location like Virginia Kendall for an e-session with their dogs? Don and Karen find it very easy to have fun together which makes shooting them together very easy. It was the perfect lead up to their wedding that we shot last month. Enjoy!

Danielle and Mark’s Engagement Session

Ok, so we’re a little behind on blogging engagement sessions. I admit it, but we’ll try to get caught up, I promise. On the night before we took off for France back in August, Mark and Danielle made the trip up from Columbus for their engagement session near the flats in Cleveland. Mark and Danielle both share a love for animals, which is why they are both studying veterinary medicine at Ohio State at the moment. Thankfully, they’ll have a break form all that next July for their wedding at the Union Club, so stay tuned for that!

Wendy and Calvin’s Engagement Session

Wendy and Calvin made the trip up from Cincinnati for their engagement session along the Towpath Trail on a cloudy and unseasonably cool day earlier this summer. They love to read together in their free time when they are able to get away from their jobs at Proctor & Gamble where they both work, and where they met. Keep your eye on the blog next September for the exciting conclusion at Glenmoor Country Club! Can’t wait!

Kate and Adam’s Engagement Session In Their Hometown of Louisville, Ohio

We began Kate and Adam’s engagement session at their beautiful new home where Adam, on the night that they closed on the house, proposed to Kate in the living room. It was fun to see how excited Kate was about doing an engagement session and even more fun when we got to show them the results in person at the studio last night. Kate is having entirely too much fun planning their 2012 wedding and reception at the Bertram Inn, and as the details come in and as we get to know Kate and Adam better, we are joining right with her in her enthusiasm. 2012 is going to be a good year!

Katie and Ryan Are About to be Married!

I got to meet up with Katie and Ryan a few weeks ago for a last minute engagement session at the Brecksville Reservation. I say last minute because they are getting married just a few weeks from now! Emily, the surprisingly well behave lab you see in the photos, joined us for most of the session before we headed over to Shady Hollow Golf Course for a few photos where Katie and Ryan had their first date. Stay tuned to the blog for the wedding post which will be up in just a couple of weeks!

Jen and Kellen’s Engagement Session on Whiskey Island

The original plan for Jen and Kellen’s engagement session was to shoot the whole session at Edgewater Park where they have spent a good bit of time together in the past. About half way into the session, the topic of the abandoned Coast Guard Station on Whiskey Island came up, so we decided to go check it out. The exterior and the grounds are looking pretty rough these days but it’s still a very interesting structure that hopefully will be rehabilitated and put back to use soon. We were walking around the outside when I pushed on the front door, not expecting much to happen. To my surprise, the door swung in.

We finished the rest of the session inside the Station and as a result, Jen and Kellen will be enjoying the 7th and 8th images of this blog post on their walls for years to come.

Thanks for your spirit of adventure, guys, and well see you in a couple of months!
