Big sister to be

Little Violet is about to become a big sister. Little does she know her world is about to change. She will go from being the center of attention for mom, dad and grandparents to having to share some of that attention with baby. She will also however gain in time a new playmate and close friend. Siblings are wonderful to have!

This session was a combined Violet is 18 months old, family portraits and maternity session so we captured a lot of variety. I had to share one of Violet’s goofy smile. She hasn’t quite mastered the relaxed grin yet but maybe by next photo session she will.

Starting things off with one of my favorites from the session. I love that mom can and still wears those fancy heels this far into her pregnancy.

This is the grin in question. Doesn’t it make you smile? I know it does me.

Jeff and Amy seemed prepared for parenthood when I captured their maternity session, at least as prepared as one can be. By the time you read this, they are in fact parents. Congrats you two!

Amy has a great sense of decor which is apparent in the baby room so we made sure to include some of her handy work in the photos. After a little time at home we headed to nearby Olmstead Falls. While I’ve been there several times before, it was all new to Amy. We discovered new parts to the park together which where great backgrounds to Amy’s glowing demeanor. Doesn’t she look amazing?

Spring baby about to arrive

Caitlin had a lovely birthday surprise planned for her husband in which I played a part. I took some maternity portraits at their home in Clinton and included their son Jack in some images as well. Since I have a penchant for old historical homes, I was thrilled to see their house and all the options we had to work with. The house and yard was a great backdrop and of course made Jack be very at ease for the photos.

Mommy and Daddy to be

Jay and Suellen are about to become parents. They only have a couple weeks left to go before their world will be changed upside by the arrival of their first baby: a precious girl. I’m sure their great sense of humor and ability to laugh at themselves will come in handy with the unexpected events that are bound to happen when raising a child.

While Suellen claims to be unphotogenic, I have to strongly disagree with her. Don’t you think she is just radiant and stunning in front of the camera as a soon to be mom?

Mary and Steve have a little one on the way. While I can relate to seeing a woman anxiously waiting for baby to arrive, it was refreshing to witness how eager Steve is to meet his son and become a dad. What an exciting new chapter in their life they are about to start. Here is an early congrats!

Damon and Carrie awaiting their first baby

We’ve known Damon and Carrie for several years now and see the two of them make a home together. It’s been a priviledge to capture big moments in their lives including their wedding and now the awaiting of their firstborn (because there will be more). I was not fast enough to post these images and I leanred that they just welcomed their son into the world a couple days ago. Congrats you two! We are so happy for you and look forward to meeting the little guy.

Snowy Ohio Maternity Session- Graham and April

Graham and April have had quite a colorful and well traveled relationship so far. For their maternity session, they wanted to incorporate some snow as a reminder of his Canadian roots. Thankfully we had a fresh coat of snow and one of the prettiest snowfalls of the year. Congrats on the little baby due any day! I wonder if the baby will have mommy’s stunning curly hair.

Romantic Maternity Session in Ohio – James and Elisabeth

For Elisabeth and James’ maternity session, we tossed around several ideas including some outside images in the lovely Ohio snow. We photographed as much variety inside the Canton Ohio studio as possible before heading into the bitter cold. I cannot be more thrilled with the resulting romantic yet playful images. It’s hard not to when you have a couple like James and Elisabeth that are such naturals in front of the camera!

Congrats you two! I can already picture you two become great parents.

A fun but messy idea I had. The results were worth. I’m still finding feathers around the studio weeks later!

Ohio maternity

For Dawn’s maternity session, we included not just her soon-to-be son Caleb but her other love Christian. By the time you see these photos, little Caleb has been enjoying life for a little while. Hopefully the two brothers are becoming best of friends. Congrats Dawn and Phil!

Canton Ohio maternity session – Scott and Susan

While Scott and Susan have extensive experience with raising kids, the whole pregnancy thing is brand new to them. This couple adopted 3 siblings and are already amazing parents. With this being her first and last pregnancy, Scott and Susan knew they wanted to document this time in their lives. I was thrilled to play my part take their maternity photos at our studio in Canton, Ohio. Susan just looks stunning with her pregnancy glow.
