Damon and Carrie awaiting their first baby

We’ve known Damon and Carrie for several years now and see the two of them make a home together. It’s been a priviledge to capture big moments in their lives including their wedding and now the awaiting of their firstborn (because there will be more). I was not fast enough to post these images and I leanred that they just welcomed their son into the world a couple days ago. Congrats you two! We are so happy for you and look forward to meeting the little guy.

Snowy Ohio Maternity Session- Graham and April

Graham and April have had quite a colorful and well traveled relationship so far. For their maternity session, they wanted to incorporate some snow as a reminder of his Canadian roots. Thankfully we had a fresh coat of snow and one of the prettiest snowfalls of the year. Congrats on the little baby due any day! I wonder if the baby will have mommy’s stunning curly hair.

Romantic Maternity Session in Ohio – James and Elisabeth

For Elisabeth and James’ maternity session, we tossed around several ideas including some outside images in the lovely Ohio snow. We photographed as much variety inside the Canton Ohio studio as possible before heading into the bitter cold. I cannot be more thrilled with the resulting romantic yet playful images. It’s hard not to when you have a couple like James and Elisabeth that are such naturals in front of the camera!

Congrats you two! I can already picture you two become great parents.

A fun but messy idea I had. The results were worth. I’m still finding feathers around the studio weeks later!

Ohio maternity

For Dawn’s maternity session, we included not just her soon-to-be son Caleb but her other love Christian. By the time you see these photos, little Caleb has been enjoying life for a little while. Hopefully the two brothers are becoming best of friends. Congrats Dawn and Phil!

Canton Ohio maternity session – Scott and Susan

While Scott and Susan have extensive experience with raising kids, the whole pregnancy thing is brand new to them. This couple adopted 3 siblings and are already amazing parents. With this being her first and last pregnancy, Scott and Susan knew they wanted to document this time in their lives. I was thrilled to play my part take their maternity photos at our studio in Canton, Ohio. Susan just looks stunning with her pregnancy glow.

I love capturing the connection between people. Sometimes a look says a lot and other times a simple touch can mean even more. Add a soon-to-be baby and you’ve got a whole new layer of connections. Grasping that growing bond between mother and child is an amazing thing.

I know several people are anxiously awaiting these maternity photos so I don’t want to babble too much. While I’m glad we took some photos inside the studio, my favorites are the ones we did outside in the cornfield with the moody sky. I’m so glad the weather cooperated and we had so much fun in the process (which I knew we would)!

Kim’s maternity photos

I recently found out that Kim, a previous bride of ours from a few years ago, was expecting twins. I was thrilled to hear she wanted some maternity photos and was willing to try something more daring. Dad wasn’t able to join us for photos but I’m quite sure he will like the results. We started off nice and simple and gradually went more sexy. I think Kim can pull off sexy maternity photos.

Can’t wait the meet the twins in 2 or 3 weeks. I know you’re hoping for sooner!

Brian and Kelly are having a baby!

We’ve known Brian and Kelly since they hired us for their wedding almost 5 years ago. We had a blast at their wedding and enjoy hearing from them time to time so we were thrilled to hear they were expecting their first, a boy. As with their wedding photos, they were willing to try just about anything for the maternity photos (thanks Brian for taking your shirt off). I think the results speak for themselves:

Brian went to Kent State for Art Education (same as me) so I knew I could put him to work with a paintbrush.

I should mention all these photos were done either in or right outside the studio with fabrics provided by me.

Mintus Maternity

The Mintus family is eagerly waiting the arrival of the newest member of the family, Mom probably more than little Rylee. I’m guessing she’s in for a big surprise once the baby comes along and she no longer gets all of Mom and Dad’s attention.

Alyssa (the Mom) wanted to photos with an urban feel. We settled on good ol’ Akron. I’m pretty happy that we managed to get all this variety within one block. Hopefully I didn’t wear you guys out to much.
