Yearly portraits of our kids in the fall

Monday, November 14th, 2011

It’s been a yearly tradition to take portraits of our kids in the fall. It’s hard to resist the golden and rust colored foliage, the crisp air and the crunch the leaves make make when walking on them. This year we barely managed to get any images because we waited until November to take Ezra and Rochelle to a newly discovered nearby location. The challenging part was walking past a playground to said spot to get the desired images.

Rochelle turns 5

Tuesday, April 5th, 2011

Since her birthday falls in the cold month of February and with close proximity to Valentine’s day, I’ve often taken the easy way out: heart shaped decorations with pink and red for colors. Not this year! I knew she would probably remember this birthday and I hoped to make it something memorable for a little girl. I might have secretly lived out a little fantasy of my own for her birthday (which I guess is no longer a secret now). This year, despite the cold outside which is still lingering, I decided to make it feel like spring inside.

Nisly family christmas tree outing

Monday, January 10th, 2011

Since we had no weddings this past weekend, I thought I would share some personal images for a change. I am thankful our kids Rochelle and Ezra are old enough to really get into the holiday spirit. Christmas is my favorite holiday and I might be known to go a little overboard with decorating at [...]

Our little Ezra turns 3

Friday, July 16th, 2010

We make an effort to capture our children for each of their birthdays and this year we brought Ezra to the studio. He was ecstatic to have the studio to himself with mom and dad’s undivided attention.

The Nisly kids

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

It’s been a little while since I’ve posted photos of our kiddos and I didn’t want anyone to feel deprived. These are some candid taken during our little trip to Delaware and the surrounding area. Enjoy! Mischevious Rochelle I’m still crazy about Ezra’s blue eyes! I am proud to say these are (hopefully) the last [...]

France – part IV – Paris, Mont Saint Michel and more

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

Here is our fourth and final installment of our trip to France. We had a great time seeing amazing landscapes, stunning stone buildings and stroll one of my favorite cities in the world: Paris! It’s even more fun to see the city at night with the lights everywhere.

France – Part II – market and crepes

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

And now for the second installment of our trip to France. Nothing extraordinary but we enjoyed some time at the local market and dinner at the creperie. These crepes were amazing! We enjoyed our stay in the little village of Kerbors on the northwest part of France. Everything was so quaint there, it’s hard not to slow down and enjoy your stay.

Our Baby is Two Years Old

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

It’s hard to believe that two years ago yesterday, we were blessed with our little boy, Ezra. Looking at him now, you can see that he has come a long way since his ten weeks early, three pound beginning. He’s now a fun-loving, active, curious little boy that is just a joy to be around. [...]

C.C. and Kevin’s wedding at Blue Canyon

Monday, April 27th, 2009

Kevin and C.C.’s wedding was a little different for us in that the ceremony started at 10:00AM followed by a brunch reception at the Blue Canyon restaurant. This didn’t leave much time between the ceremony and the reception, so C.C. and Kevin scheduled several hours for the four of us to roam around Cleveland after the reception for photos. This made for a relaxing afternoon with plenty of time to hit some of C.C.’s favorite spots as well as ours.

Our kiddos in the winter

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

Info on the contest is coming shortly. It turned out harder than expected to choose finalists but I’ll be sure to get that up before the end of the week. In the meantime, I’ve been meaning to post photos of our kids. Our oldest Rochelle turned 3 today. She’s already trying to be a little [...]

James and Genevieve Nisly and kids

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

It’s been a long, long time since we’ve posted photos of us and our family so it’s time to remedy that. So many couples and clients know we have kids and some have known me pregnant (in some cases very pregnant) but haven’t seen what the kids look like. Now that Ezra is over a year old, we finally have had 2 different sessions done.

Our trip to Napa Valley

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

Yes, we took a vacation in the middle of our busy season. Yes, we went with friends and not our kids. Yes, it was very nice and relaxing. Yes, we missed our kiddos. Yes, we learned a lot about good wines and food. Yes, I want to go back next year but this time for [...]

In hopes of spring

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

With the lack of weddings to photograph, I need to give my fingers exercise and keep my mind in the creative mindset. This week when grocery shopping I found inspiration in a bunch of tulips. They were simply gorgeous and made me think of spring which I hope comes soon.I can almost picture these a [...]

Ezra at 7 months old and Rochelle

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

After photographing these babies recently, it was time to make sure ours was not omitted. Ezra’s latest pleasure is playing with his feet. If that’s all it takes to make him happy, I am happy to oblige. Meanwhile his sister Rochelle has the bad bad habit of twirling her hair while sucking her thumb. Yes, [...]

Happy Birthday, Genevieve!!

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

That’s right – today is the day that Genevieve turns the big 3-0. She’s been downplaying the whole 30 thing for a while now, but I think it’s finally sinking in. If you haven’t already, be sure to wish her a happy Birthday! James

Goals for 2008

Friday, February 8th, 2008

Most people tend to have goals like eating better, loosing weight and getting in shape. While I am certainly working on those, I have others that I could use some help with. In 2008, I want to:- spend more time with friends and family. We’ve been working 6 days a week and sometimes 7 but [...]

Rochelle is now 2 years old

Thursday, February 7th, 2008

Another year has come and gone and our baby girl is no longer a baby. She is now two years old and is already a big sister. She is doing her best to step up to her role as big sister and daily gives kisses to Ezra, tries to help comfort him when he’s crying [...]

Holiday photos

Thursday, February 7th, 2008

So I wasn’t very good about keeping you updated with photos around the holidays. Here are some for you all to enjoy. Christmas time is my favorite time of year: I love the snow, the decorations, the food, getting together with friends and celebrating with family. One of the best things is our yearly party [...]

Nisly Family and more

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

So it’s been a little while since our last post. Anybody miss us? Anybody think we are at home twiddling our thumbs and bored out of our minds? If you are thinking that, think again! We are already planning ahead for next year, working on new sample albums (and I found a new company I [...]

Mini-Vacation

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

Prepare yourselves for lots of photos and posts since we have some catching up to do. My Mom flew in from France to spend quality time with her grandchildren so James and I decided to get away and relax (as per her suggestion). Where did we go, you might ask? On day 1, we got [...]

Be right back

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

Hey Everyone, Genevieve and I skipped town this week for a mini-vacation and we left before we had a chance to blog Saturday’s wedding. When we get back, we’ll have a wedding and our adventures to blog about so stay tuned! Also, if you are waiting to hear back from us about anything, we’ll be [...]

Ezra and Rochelle

Sunday, September 2nd, 2007

Hey Everyone, it’s James posting this time. We’ve had a lot of people mention that they were watching the blog for updates on Ezra, so here it is. He has been home for three weeks now, and we are finally getting into a groove with having him around. Both Genevieve and I are a little [...]

France and Switzerland

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

No wedding this past Saturday? Some of you are quite perceptive! We enjoyed our one Saturday off since May and this past May is when we visited my family in France. I thought it was time to post some photos from our trip. Rochelle managed to fall asleep on my lap in the airport while [...]

Little Ezra and big sister Rochelle

Friday, July 27th, 2007

First off, I need to thank everyone for the outpouring of prayers, well wishes, congratulations, offer for help and understanding we’ve received in the past month. It means so much to get that kind of support when going through rough times and we wouldn’t have made it as well as we have if it wasn’t [...]

Little Ezra Nisly is here!!!!!

Monday, July 16th, 2007

On July 14th at 8:30AM, Genevieve gave birth to our baby boy, Ezra Sanford Nisly. He had to come a little earlier than we hoped, but he seems to be doing very well. He only weighs three pounds, so he has some growing to do before we can take him home. Mom is still recuperating, [...]

5 years of marriage for us

Monday, June 11th, 2007

Last Friday happened to be our 5 year anniversary. Originally we planned to take the weekend off but if you read previous posts, you’ll see we had a recent trip to Europe where James and I enjoyed some time together in Italy as our anniversary celebration. That what quite a way to celebrate 5 years [...]

Vive la France!

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

Genevieve, Rochelle and I are going to be in Europe visiting family from May 2nd, to May 17th. We will have sporadic e-mail access so we might be able to answer some e-mails, and we will not be able to answer the phone, or check voice mail until we get back. We’ll get back to [...]

Vegas

Tuesday, April 10th, 2007

We recently returned from an amazing time in Vegas. No, it wasn’t because of all the gambling either. We attended some great classes, met some very cool people and bonded with some friends. There were a few parties in there but other than that we stayed in a 3 block radius of our hotel. Next [...]

Time for more photos

Wednesday, February 7th, 2007

So you think it’s time for some more photos here? I do. I know I’ve been behind on that. We enjoyed taking about 3 weeks off since my parents came and visited from France. Of course we still managed to take some photos with them in town. We celebrated our first Christmas with Rochelle. Isn’t [...]

Chicago

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

This post is dedicated to my brother, John: I know you love big cities as much as I do but won’t get a chance to visit one in a while. The last couple years were hard waiting for the kidney transplant but I am so glad you finally got one. I wish I was closer [...]

1/2 a year

Tuesday, August 15th, 2006

Since James posted the last photos of Rochelle, it’s my turn to post some. Last week she turned 6 months. Said that way, it doesn’t sound bad but if you stop to think about it and realize she is already 1/2 a year, it puts it all into perspective. Before we know it, we’ll be [...]

Little Miss Rochelle

Monday, July 31st, 2006

Hey everyone, it’s James this time; I’m allowed to post once in a while, right? We don’t have a wedding to post this week as we took the weekend off, so I thought I would post a few photos I took of our daughter, Rochelle. If you are or were a client of ours, I’m [...]

Rochelle’s first feeding

Wednesday, June 21st, 2006

Our little one is finally big enough for some “solid” food. First time wasn’t too bad. She’ll need a lot of practice before mastering the whole swallowing thing without causing a mess. We still think she is adorable!

Welcome to my blog

Monday, June 19th, 2006

We went to France in April so our little Rochelle could see her grandparents for the first time. We were able to do a little sight seeing but not much. From the Alsace area we also went to Switzerland and Germany. I love old stone, trees, stairs, doorways and strong shadows. These photos of course [...]
