High School Senior Sam

After doing Sam’s brother photos a couple years ago, Sam himself decided to choose us for his high school senior photos as well. It was very interesting to witness the difference and slight similarities in personalities between the two brothers because I know how different my sister and I are. The weather was not especially cooperative that day but Sam was up for anything even standing in the rain for the shot. We also included his collection of shoes (is it appropriate to say that guys collect shoes?), the family plane, his car and some of his athletic gear. Wishing you a great rest of your senior year Sam!

Senior Shoshana – full of life

Her enthusiasm, love of life and energy are simply contagious! While photographing Shoshana, it was impossible for me not to smile. I enjoyed hearing about her love of photography, Agatha Christie books, various sports including but not limited to skying and running, her favorite ice cream and just witnessing her bubbly personality. She reminds me a lot of myself in high school (minus the running part). I foresee a bright future ahead! Thanks for picking as your high school senior photographer Shoshana.

Canton Senior Session with Mitch

When Mitch was thinking about his senior photo session, he knew he wanted to do something different from his classmates at Perry High School. The word plane came up since his family owns a hanger near a small airport south of Canton. Who were we to say no? I am so glad we were able to create some fun and unique images for Mitch’s senior session that capture who he is. Thanks for the challenge!

April wanted a senior session to celebrate her graduation from Malone University. I know it’s more common to do senior photos when in high school but I thought this was a great idea. Plus she’s having me design her graduation party invitations with her photos.

I loved that April gave me free reign as far as locations. We ventured to some parts of Canton I’ve been patiently waiting to use with the right person.

April wasn’t too sure about these portraits of her at first but I think she is starting to warm up to them. Doesn’t she look radiant here?!

From dramatic columns to colorful and old businesses (which is a better representation of Canton if you ask me)

Congrats on achieving your goals April! You have a lot to be proud of.

Caitlin’s senior session

At first Caitlin seemed reserved when we were planning her senior photo session. Come to find out, she is pretty outgoing once the ice is broken. She is also willing to do just about anything for some great photos.

We were crazy enough to plan the session outside in November and I wasn’t sure we could pull it off. Thankfully the weather was amazing as was Caitlin!

Caitlin is graduating from Firestone High School and has Notre Dame and Purdue at the top of her college wish list

Caitlin has played soccer for many years as the goalie. When I asked if she would bring a soccer ball for some photos, she replied that she doesn’t like seeing the ball. Silly me!

Taylor’s senior session

Up next is Taylor’s senior session.

We incorporated some of items of significance in her session: favorite swing set near Hoover High School, softball uniform, championship ring, natural beauty and a great smile. All those items create a recipe for great senior photos that are genuine.

While I know the smiling photos are preferred by both Taylor and her Mom, I had to include a couple more serious ones that I really liked.

Thanks for introducing me to Justin Nozuka, I’m now hooked because of you, Taylor. Are you going to see him in Cleveland tomorrow?

Kathleen’s senior session

For those of you that check the blog often, I know there are a couple of you, you’ve probably noticed I don’t show much senior photos. To be honest, I was not familiar with the concept growing up so it was new territory for me. Thankfully I get a fun senior like Kathleen and now I think I’ve got the bug. I want to do more!

Kathleen is about to start her senior year at Hoover. Her passion is soccer, as you’ll notice in the last photo. She someday hopes to be a genetic counselor but in the meantime enjoys vanilla ice cream and listening to Colbie Caillat.

Tara

Darbie, Tara’s mom whom I used to work with, asked me if I did senior photos. Sure I do, just not very frequently and not your typical in studio poses. So off we went to the Seiberling Naturealm. Once there I had Tara nestle in Japanese grass, climb trees and lay on the ground. Thankfully she was more than willing.

Tara’s twin sister, Lauren, came along so we do a couple photos with the 2 of them

I’ve been wanting to try something different in terms of texture for a while and this seemed like the perfect opportunity since the wall was already textured. What do you think?
