Romantic session – last photos from Mexico

Two days after Cody and Alyssa’s wedding we did a mock trash the dress session. I say mock because she wasn’t wearing her wedding dress. I hope I get to do more of these sessions in the future because they are so fun for us and for the couple. These sessions open up doors to be creative that aren’t typically an option.

Another Trash the Dress – Brandywine Falls

After having so much fun with Marc and Megan back in June, we decided along with 2nd Mile Productions to do another “anything goes” bridal session, but with a very different feel this time. Instead of urban grunge, we went for nature and everything it has to offer. Brian, of 2nd Mile, was able to find some willing participants in his client list who agreed to get dressed up and have a little fun in the name of our art.

While we thought we were going to have nice, cool October weather to shoot in, we ended up sweating our butts off in 90 degree weather while hiking around Brandywine Falls hunting for cool spots to shoot in. It was so hot, in fact, that it took very little prodding to get Jen and Jeremy in the water at the end. Thanks guys!!

Trash The Dress or After Wedding Session

When James and I are shooting weddings, we often get ideas or come across situations with the bride and groom that we would love to explore but can’t because of schedules, logistics, or having to be careful about keeping the dress clean for the reception. We thought that a really cool way to free us from some of the limitations and allow us to get some really interesting images and have a ton of fun doing it is to offer a post-wedding session where anything goes.

We recently did a session like this with Marc and Megan, a couple who’s wedding we shot back in January. We thought we might further document the session by inviting our favorite videographers 2nd Mile Productions to come film the session. I can’t tell you what a blast we had roaming around downtown Akron with an open mind to make use of whatever we found, and without having to look at our watches at all.

Even if we didn’t or can’t shoot your wedding, it’s a great opportunity to get some amazing images that just wouldn’t be possible on your wedding day. If you are interested, just contact us and we can give you the details. The possibilities are endless.

Sam and Aurelie at Morimont Castle

We recently returned from our trip to Europe where we spent some time with family, did some business and enjoyed a vacation in Italy away from Rochelle to celebrate our 5 anniversary. It all was wonderful and exhausting. I’ll be sharing some photos from our trip in different installments.

Sam and Aurelie is a couple who’s wedding photographed in France 3 years ago. With the all the events surrounding their wedding day, we never had the opportunity to do some photos that have a typical French background or flair (at least something we would not see here). We tried to remedy that on this trip by going to Morimont Castle and the neighboring village. This was our version of “trash the dress” or apres-wedding session that we toned down since the bride is 3 months pregnant. Thanks for being so willing Sam and Aurelie!
